The laser targets haemoglobin in the vessel, helping it to gradually fade over time. Treatment suitability depends on the vessel type, size, colour, depth and the overall condition of the legs.

Several sessions may be required, usually spaced a number of weeks apart. Larger veins, painful veins, swelling or suspected circulation problems should be assessed medically before cosmetic laser treatment.
