Deep Tissue Massage

Firm pressure for deep-seated tension

Tight shoulders, a stiff back and tension that never quite lets go are common — especially after long hours at a desk, physical work or regular training.

This is a vigorous workout for the body, perfect to alleviate high stress levels. Tailored entirely to your needs, it leaves you feeling grounded and focused. Your therapist will select an aromatic oil according to your concerns, be they muscle pain, stress relief, pure relaxation or emotional balance.

At Dermalaser Beauty Lounge in Paralimni, deep tissue massage uses slow, firm pressure to work through the deeper layers of muscle and the connective tissue around them. Pressure is built up gradually and adjusted to what feels right for you.

It may suit people who carry persistent tension in the neck, shoulders, back or legs, including after exercise or long periods of sitting. Sessions are available as 60 or 90 minutes, and the focus can be on the whole body or on the areas that need it most.

Some tenderness for a day or two afterwards is common with firmer pressure. Massage is not a substitute for medical care, and anyone with a recent injury, a circulation or clotting condition, or who is pregnant should mention it before booking.

Common questions

How is deep tissue massage different from a relaxation massage?

A relaxation massage uses lighter, flowing strokes to help you unwind. Deep tissue massage uses slower, firmer pressure to reach deeper muscle layers and areas of stubborn tension. Both are adjusted to your comfort during the session.

Will it hurt?

Deep tissue massage can feel intense in areas of tension, but it should not be painful. Tell your therapist at any time if the pressure is too strong and it will be adjusted. Mild soreness for a day or two afterwards is common.

Is deep tissue massage suitable for everyone?

Not always. Pregnancy, recent injuries or surgery, blood clotting or circulation conditions, skin infections and some other medical conditions may make firm massage unsuitable or require changes. Please tell us about your health history before treatment; we may ask for medical clearance where needed.
